Dr. Waggoner’s Philisophy
Raising children today can feel overwhelming. Society is changing quickly, and it’s not always clear where to turn when questions or concerns come up. At Waggoner Pediatrics, we are here to support you every step of the way. We are always happy to sit down with families to talk through concerns, help find solutions, or connect you with trusted specialists when additional support is needed.
We are seeing an increasing number of children and teenagers struggling with anxiety and depression. These challenges can be significant, and addressing them early is important. Our team is committed to helping families navigate these concerns by assisting with counseling referrals, closely following patients, and discussing additional treatment options when appropriate.
Illness is also common in childhood, especially during the winter months. We believe the best care happens when children are evaluated by their pediatrician. Pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners are specially trained to care for sick children and can better determine when treatment is necessary and when supportive care is the best option. This approach helps ensure illnesses resolve appropriately and reduces unnecessary antibiotic use.
We strongly believe in prescribing medications only when they are truly needed and in clearly explaining our decisions to families. Education is a key part of our care — we want parents to understand what’s happening, what to watch for, and how to best support their child’s recovery.
Dr. Waggoner is available to help families at any time, day or night. When you call our office after hours, the answering service will page Dr. Waggoner directly, and he will return your call. In an age of telemedicine and nurse hotlines, we believe there is real comfort in speaking directly with your pediatrician — someone who knows your child and your family — at no additional cost.
